Regulations on Granting Bachelor's Degree to International Students of HYIT

Article 1 In order to implement The Regulations of the People's Republic of China Concerning Degrees, these regulations regarding the granting of bachelors degree to international undergraduates are formulated in accordance with the credit system of HYIT, with reference to Temporary Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations of the People's Republic of China Concerning Degrees, Temporary Measures for Granting Degrees to International Students of the Academic Degree Committee of the State Council, and Temporary Measures of Granting Bachelors Degrees in Universities and Colleges in Jiangsu Province.

Article 2 With the approval of the Degree Assessment Committee of HYIT, students who meet all the following qualifications can be granted bachelors degrees:

(1) Complete the courses in the Personnel Training Programme of the major and obtaining corresponding credits.

(2) The average GPA is 1.5 or above;

(3) Students who are taught in Chinese should pass HSK5Students who are taught in English should pass HSK4;

(4) During the time in school, he / she shall abide by the laws and regulations of the people's Republic of China as well as the school rules and regulations of our university. He / she has good conduct, has not been punished with demerit or above, or has recognized outstanding performance after being punished, and has been deliberated and approved by the university degree evaluation committee. Recognized outstanding performance mainly for the following points:

(1) Obtain the postgraduate admission qualification (subject to the admission notice)

(2) During the school period, the average GPA of liberal arts students is more than 3.5 (85-89 points), and that of science and engineering students is more than 3.0 (80-84 points)

(3) As a major member of an individual or group, obtain the first prize in the school level competition, the second prize or above in the municipal competition, the third prize or above in the provincial competition, and the national excellent award or above.

Article 3 The procedure of granting bachelor’s degree: the Degree Assessment Branch Committee of the corresponding faculty assesses the graduates performances in both behavior and academic study, and then submits the name list to the Degree Assessment Committee of HYIT; after the Degree Assessment Committee of HYIT examines and approves the submission of colleges, the institute grants bachelor’s degrees and issue degree certificates.

Article 4 If any student with punishment above disciplinary Demerit Record is a recognized outstanding performance after being punished, he (she) can apply for the bachelor’s degree upon graduation. The Degree Assessment Committee of the corresponding faculty assesses his (her) performances, and then submits the assessment to the Degree Assessment Committee of HYIT. After the latter makes a special examination and approval of the submission, the institute grants the bachelor’s degree and certificate.

Article 5 Students who graduate or complete the courses but fail to get bachelor’s degree because of not meeting the conditions on credits and GPA can reapply for the bachelor’s degree after restudying those courses within flexible educational system after leaving school. The institute will refuse to the re-application if the student is cheating in the exams of the re-taking courses.

Article 6 These regulations are applicable to students enrolled after year 2016, and the Office of the Institute’s Degree Evaluation Committee is responsible for interpretation of details.
