Regulations of the Prohibition of Smoking on Campus

Classrooms, laboratories, libraries, meeting rooms and dormitories are facilities of living and studying for international students. In view of the recent disregard of school discipline, some international students have violated school regulations and smoked in these facilities. In accordance with the "Behavior Norms of International Students of HYIT","Regulations on Accommodations of International Students of HYIT",“Discipline and Punishment Criteria for International Students" and "Regulations on HYIT Scholarship for Excellent International Students", the following regulations are formulated with the aim to build a clean environment and prevent fire hazards.

Article 1 Any of the following acts is considered to be student smoking:

Smoking in classrooms, laboratories, libraries, meeting rooms and dormitories;

Unidentified smoking will be regarded as smoking behavior if reported with conclusive evidence;

Keeping an eye for others when they are smoking, and other smoking-encouraging behaviors.

Article 2 Punishment for Smoking

Verbal warnings shall be given, if the act of smoking is found for one time.

Public verbal punishment shall be given by the School of International Education, if the act of smoking is found for two times. Serious warnings shall be given and the “HYIT Scholarship for Excellent International Students” shall be deducted for half a year, if the act of smoking is found for three times. Disciplinary punishment shall be given and the “ HYIT Scholarship for Excellent International Students” shall be deducted for a year, if the act of smoking is found for four times. Demerit shall be recorded and all “HYIT Scholarship for Excellent International Students” shall be canceled, if the act of smoking is found for five times.
