(1) The X1 visa must be converted into a residence permit
（一）X1签证必须转换成居留许可
International students entering the country on an X1 visa must apply for a residence permit within 30 days from the date of entry.
持X1签证入境的留学生必须在入境之日起30天内办理居留许可申请手续。
(2) During the validity period of an X2 visa, it is not necessary to convert it into a residence permit or to convert it into a residence permit
（二）X2签证在有效期内可以不转换成居留许可或转换居留许可
International students holding an X2 visa who have studied in China for less than six months do not need to apply for a residence permit during the validity period of their visa.
1. 在中国学习时间不满6个月，持X2签证的留学生在签证有效期内可以不办理居留许可；
International students holding X2 visas who study in China for more than six months must apply for a residence permit during the validity period of their visa.
2. 在中国学习时间超过6个月，持X2签证的留学生在签证有效期内必须办理居留许可。

For the extension of residence permit, if the residence address has not changed, there is no need to provide the original and a copy of the "Temporary Accommodation Registration Form for Overseas Personnel".
1. 延期居留许可，若居住地址未发生变化，无需提供《境外人员临时住宿登记单》原件及复印件。
2. If the expiration date of the passport or the graduation date is less than half a year, a residence permit cannot be applied for. A stay visa needs to be applied for once a month.
2. 若距离护照到期时间或毕业时间不满半年，无法申请居留许可，需每月申请办理一次停留签证。
The materials required for applying for a stay visa are the same as those for extending a residence permit.
办理停留签所需材料与居留许可延期相同。

四、更换护照申请居留许可
(1) Please pay attention to the expiration date of your passport and contact the embassy in advance to apply. Ensure that you obtain a new passport half a year before its expiration. Also, ask the embassy to issue a new passport activation certificate to prove that the holders of the new and old passports are the same person.
（一）请个人关注护照到期时间并提前联系大使馆申请，确保在护照到期前半年取得新护照，并请大使馆出具新护照启用证明，以证明新旧护照持有者为同一人。

五、居留许可注销
For international students who leave school early, take a leave of absence, withdraw from school or are expelled from school for various reasons, the Exit-Entry Administration of Huai 'an City will, depending on the circumstances, cancel their residence permits, go to the International Education College to handle the departure procedures, and leave China within the prescribed time.
对因各种原因提前离校、休学、退学或被学校开除学籍的留学生，淮安市出入境将视情况注销居留许可，至国际教育学院办理离校手续，并在规定时间内离华。

六、居留许可过期
(1) Pay the fine
（一）缴纳罚款
First, go to the local police station to accept the overdue fine and obtain an administrative penalty ticket.
先去辖区派出所接受过期罚款，并取得行政处罚单。
The overdue fine is 500 RMB per day, with a maximum limit of 10,000 RMB or detention for not less than five days but not more than fifteen days.
过期罚款费用为500元人民币/天，最高限额为10000元人民币或者处以五日以上十五日以下拘留。

Visa matters are personal affairs. International students should pay attention to the expiration date of their visas. If they exceed the expiration date due to personal reasons, all penalties will be borne by the students themselves.
1. 签证事宜是个人事务，留学生应关注自己的签证到期日，如因个人原因造成超期，一切处罚由学生本人承担；
2. At least two weeks before the visa expires, inform the staff of the International Students Management Office of the Institute of International Education to prepare the materials for the extension of the residence permit that need to be provided by the school for yourself, and handle the extension in a timely manner.
2. 并在签证到期至少前两周告知国教院留学生管理办公室工作人员为本人准备好需由学校提供的居留许可延期材料，及时办理延期；
3. Please prepare the photocopies of relevant materials such as your passport and health certificate in advance by yourself. The office of the Institute of International Education does not provide printing or photocopying services.
3. 护照、健康证等相关材料的复印件请由本人提前准备好，国教院办公室不提供打印、复印等服务；
4. Students who need to renew their passports should ensure that they obtain a new passport half a year before its expiration and ask the embassy to issue a new passport activation certificate. As soon as they receive the new passport and the activation certificate, please send the photos of the first pages of both the new and old passports to the office of the International Education College for temporary accommodation registration.
4. 更换护照学生确保在护照到期前半年取得新护照，并请大使馆出具新护照启用证明，在收到新护照和启用证明的第一时间，请将新旧护照首页照片发至国际教育学院办公室，以便办理临时住宿登记；
5. When students who wish to renew their passports inform the Office of the Institute of International Education of the expiration of their residence permits, they should also inform the office of the renewal of their passports and the new passport number.
5. 更换护照学生在告知国教院办公室居留许可到期时，请一并告知更换护照情况及新护照号；
6. If the visa/residence permit materials are not prepared as required above and the visa expires, the consequences shall be borne by the student himself/herself.
6. 如未按上述要求准备签证/居留许可材料的，出现签证超期情况，后果由学生自行负责。
X. Explanation Department

The regulations concerning the visa processing for international students shall be subject to the policies of the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of Huai 'an Public Security Bureau and shall be interpreted by the bureau.
有关留学生签证办理的规定以淮安市公安局出入境管理局的政策为准，由该局负责解释；
The regulations concerning the handling of student physical examinations shall be subject to the policies of Jiangsu International Travel Health Care Center Huai 'an Branch and shall be interpreted by this department.
有关学生体检办理的规定以江苏国际旅行卫生保健中心淮安分中心政策为准，由该部门负责解释。
