I. Introduction to Huaiyin Institute of Technology (HYIT)

HYIT was established in 1958, which is a multi-disciplinary engineering institute under Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. It is located in Huai’an, a renowned national historical and cultural city in Jiangsu Province. It’s also the birthplace of Zhou Enlai, the first premier of the People’s Republic of China. There are more than 21,000 registered full-time students, including more than 700 post-graduate students. HYIT has more than 1,300 faculty members, including more than 360 postgraduate supervisors. There are altogether 19 teaching and research units, and 69 undergraduate programs. HYIT actively promotes the academic internationalization and has established friendly and cooperative relations with more than 60 overseas universities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Italy and so on. The School of International Education was founded in 2016 and nearly 350 international students from 42 countries have been enrolled and cultivated since then.

II. Study Mode & Duration

The mode of study is full-time and the duration is 3 years. HYIT implements a two-semester system a year, namely, the spring and autumn semesters. The autumn semester is from September to January of the following year, and the spring semester is from February to July.

1. The applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen holding a valid foreign passport. The original citizens of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), and have a record of actual residence abroad for more than 2 years within the last 4 years (before April 30 of the enrollment year) (Actually living abroad for 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, subject to entry and exit signatures).

2. The applicant should have bachelor’s degree and good academic performance. For the applicant who is to graduate this year should complete all the courses and be able to obtain the bachelor’s degree before this September.

3. Language requirements

(1) For Chinese-instruction programs, applicants should have HSK 4 or above certificate.

(2) For English-instruction programs,, applicants must have IELTS 5.5 or above, TOEFL 75 or above or CEFR B2 (European standard) or other equivalent English proficiency certificate.

4. The applicant shall be no older than 35, physically and mentally healthy, and well behaved.

5. The applicant should voluntarily abide by Chinese laws, regulations and school rules and regulations, know China and love China and have not been subject to any disciplinary action or criminal punishment.

6. For those who fail to obtain graduation certificate and bachelor’s degree before September in 2022, the admission qualification will be automatically canceled.

V. Application Procedure and Admission

4. Issue the pre-admission notice

5. Pay the admission deposit within the specified date (If overdue, it will be deemed waived)

6. Issue formal Admission Notice and Visa Application Form for Foreign Students in China (Form JW202)

7. Registration at the school at the specified time (in September of each year, the specific date is subject to the admission notice)

VI. Application Documents

Complete and clear scanned files shall be provided as follows:

1. Passport photo

2. Passport home page and residence permit page

3. An academic transcript in the former junior college with the official seal of the Academic Affairs Office. (Chinese or English)

4. Certificate of schooling and pre-graduation issued by the former school

5. Certificate of Non-Criminal Record

6. Chinese/English proficiency transcript or certificate

7. Study Plan (400-800 words)

8. Two recommendation letters from associate professors or above in a related academic field (English or Chinese version);

9. Certificate of financial ability (one of the following documents: household deposit certificate, family property certificate, parent/guardian income certificate, recommended $5,000 or above)

10. Physical examination report (within 6 months)

Notice: (1) documents not in Chinese or English shall be attached with notarized or Chinese / English translations provided by the issuing unit;

(2) The files uploaded must be colored scan copies of the original ones. The applicants should guarantee that the information and materials provided are accurate and genuine without any counterfeiting, otherwise the admission will be cancelled. The original copy should be provided for future reference at the beginning of the semester.

VII. Scholarships

1. Applicants can apply for the scholarship for new international students from Huaiyin University of Technology:

Type A: Covers tuition,comprehensive medical insurance premium, On-campus accommodation subsidy (RMB 2600 yuan/year), monthly stipend (RMB 900 yuan/month, 10 months)

Type B: Covers tuition, comprehensive medical insurance premium,

2. After one year study, students can apply for the Jiangsu Provincial Government Scholarship , the Excellent International Student Scholarship of Huaiyin Institute of Technology and the International Student Scholarship of the School of International Education of Huaiyin Institute of Technology.

3. Scholarship awarded students are required to refund all the amount of scholarships they received from school if they transfer to another school for personal reasons.

VIII. Fees for Studying at HYIT (RMB)

1. Registration fee: 300 yuan/person (Online payment through the online application platform, no refund)

2. Tuition: 20,000 yuan/person/year  

3. Teaching materials: 800 yuan/person/year (Self-payment after registration)

4. Accommodation fee: 2600-3000 yuan/person/year (double room),

                                            5000-6000 yuan/person/year (single room).

5. Admission deposit: 3000 yuan/person/year (Pay after pre-admission, and offset the corresponding accommodation after admission Fees and miscellaneous fees)

6. Comprehensive medical insurance: 600 yuan/person/year
