I.  Introduction to Huaiyin Institute of Technology (HYIT)

 

HYIT was established in 1958, which is located in Huai’an, a renowned national historical and cultural city in Jiangsu Province. It’s also the birthplace of Zhou Enlai, the first premier of the People’s Republic of China. It is a university with distinguishing application characteristics under Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and a Master’s degree awarding unit. HYIT has modern libraries, complete sports facilities, student activity centers, and advanced teaching equipment and laboratories. There are more than 23,000 registered full-time students, including more than 1300 post-graduate students. HYIT has more than 1,300 faculty members, including about 700 postgraduate supervisors. The school has 6 provincial key disciplines during the 14th Five Year Plan period and 2 disciplines in the top 1% of ESI global rankings. HYIT actively promotes the academic internationalization and has established friendly and cooperative relations with 60 colleges and universities in 22 countries and Taiwan region. It has initiated joint undergraduate programs and postgraduate programs with them. It has 2 brand majors of International Talents Training in the colleges and universities of Jiangsu Province, 2 Joint International Research Laboratory programs, 1 key platform construction program of overseas high-level talents introduction and 3 foreign expert studios. The School of International Education was founded in 2016, awarded by Jiangsu Province Advanced Group for International Students Education many times, and nearly 500 international students from 42 countries have been enrolled and cultivated since then.

II. Study Mode & Duration

The mode of study is full-time and the duration is 2-5 years. HYIT implements the autumn enrollment. The autumn semester starts from September.

III. Postgraduate Programs & Language of Instruction

1. Major: Materials and Chemical Engineering

Research Field: Materials Engineering (Applied materials, Metal/Advanced Functional Materials)

This research field mainly focuses on the development needs of attapulgite clay characteristic industries and strategic emerging industries, research and technological development are carried out in the fields of attapulgite clay nano technology, attapulgite clay modification and attapulgite clay based functional materials, biomedical metal materials/functional materials, high-end interventional medical devices, etc. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents who can independently undertake technical work in the field of material engineering.

2. Major: Materials and Chemical Engineering

Research Field: Biochemical Engineering

This research field mainly focuses on the demands of local characteristic resources and strategic emerging industries development and carries out research and technology development on protein and enzyme engineering, microbial genetic engineering, biotransformation efficiency, microbial pharmaceutical, biosynthesis nanomaterials, biomass energy as well as other related aspects. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents who can independently undertake technical work in the field of biochemistry.

3. Major: Materials and Chemical Engineering

Research Field: Chemical Engineering

This research field mainly focuses on the development needs of the green salt chemical industry, it conducts research and technology development in the fields of in the preparation and application of green and efficient hydrogenation and chlorination catalysts, the transfer process, reaction engineering and separation engineering of downstream fine chemicals and related functional new materials in salt chemical industry. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents who can engage in research, technological development, and management in related fields.

4. Major: Transportation Engineering 

Research Field: Transportation Planning and Management

This research field mainly focuses on the transportation system as the research object, and is based on the basic theories, methods, and technologies of the development policies, planning and design, and operation management of comprehensive transportation systems and urban transportation systems. It mainly focuses on the research of comprehensive transportation development strategies and macro decision-making, urban and regional transportation system planning, transportation organization optimization theory and methods, transportation safety management, and transportation environment management. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents who can independently undertake technical work in the field of transportation systems.

5. Major: Transportation Engineering 

Research Field: Intelligent Transportation System & Control

This research field mainly focuses on the application of artificial intelligence, automatic control, information and communication technology in transportation system. It conducts the research and technology development in the fields of intelligent control of traffic electromechanical system, cooperative control of multi-vehicle system, fault diagnosis, intelligent decision-making and multi-objective optimization of autonomous transportation system, intelligent perception of road traffic environment, risk assessment and monitoring of dangerous goods transportation, etc. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents who can engage in research, technological development, and management in related fields.

6. Major: Transportation Engineering 

Research Field: Vehicle Operation Engineering

This research field mainly focuses on the theories and technologies related to the operation quality, safety, and inspection and maintenance of transportation tools. It teaches reliability and safety technologies for transportation tools, vehicle operation status monitoring and test calibration technology, intelligent vehicle autonomous driving and testing technology and the application and development of new materials, technologies, and processes for transportation tools.

7. Major: Transportation Engineering 

Research Field: AI & Smart Transportation

This research field mainly focuses on the application needs of artificial intelligence technology in smart transportation systems, and conducts research in areas such as intelligent traffic monitoring, intelligent travel decision-making, and intelligent traffic management. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents who can master data acquisition and processing technology, image recognition technology, and vehicle road collaboration technology, and have the awareness and ability to solve problems in intelligent transportation science theory, methods and technology.

8. Major: Transportation Engineering 

Research Field: Intelligent Transportation Equipment & Technology

This research field mainly focuses on the development needs of the smart transportation equipment industry, conducting research and technological development in intelligent design and manufacturing of transportation equipment, intelligent logistics technology and system architecture design, intelligent warehousing system and solution optimization, application research of drones in the field of transportation, control theory and key technologies of transport robots, and design and development of transportation equipment simulation systems that integrate interactive technology. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents who can engage in research, technological development, and management in related fields.

9. Major: Transportation Engineering 

Research Field: Road & Railway Engineering

This research field is based on the basic theories and key technologies in the planning, survey, design, construction, operation, maintenance and management of transportation infrastructure such as railways, highways, and urban roads. The research mainly focuses on new transportation materials, design and maintenance techniques for roadbed and pavement structures, and tunnel disaster prevention and control engineering. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents engaged in the field of transportation engineering, especially in technology development, survey and design, engineering construction, and operation management of railways, highways, etc.

10. Major: Agriculture

Research Field: Agronomy and Seed Industry

This research field mainly focuses on the basic principles and production technologies of germplasm resources, genetic breeding, cultivation techniques, pest control and post harvest treatment, storage and processing, transportation and sales of crops and horticultural crops. The focus is on conducting research in three directions: green production technology for healthy and flavored rice, green production technology for facility horticultural plants, and development of local characteristic horticultural plants. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents who can engage in research, management, and technological development in related fields.

11. Major: Agriculture

Research Field: Agricultural Informatization

Digital agricultural information processing technology: This field is characterized by the close integration of electronic information technology and agricultural technology, mainly focusing on the automation, intellectualization, and comprehensive informatization of agricultural production. It conducts research on the digital and visual expression, design, control, and management technology of agricultural biology and its objects throughout the entire process, and cultivates high-level applied talents who can engage in research, technological development, and management in related fields.

Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Decision System: this research direction is based on artificial intelligence, cybernetics, information science and technology, system science and other disciplines, with the theory and technology of information processing and pattern recognition as the core, to carry out research and technical development on agricultural information processing and construction of systems or devices with intelligent characteristics. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents who can engage in research, technological development, and management in related fields.

12. Major: Agriculture

Research Field: Agricultural Economic Management

This research field focuses on issues related to financial support for agriculture, financial support in agricultural industrialization, financing for farmers and rural small and medium-sized enterprises, rural microcredit, microfinance services, development of rural credit cooperatives, and construction of inclusive rural financial systems. Specifically, key research areas mainly include rural financing and rural credit. It mainly cultivates high-level applied talents who can engage in research, technological development, and management in related fields.

IV. Application Requirements

1. The applicant must be a non-Chinese citizen holding a valid foreign passport. The original citizens of Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (inclusive), and have a record of actual residence abroad for more than 2 years within the last 4 years (before April 30 of the enrollment year) (Actually living abroad for 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, subject to entry and exit signatures).

2. Applicants should be excellent current undergraduate graduates who have good academic achievements in the undergraduate stage and meet the graduation conditions or should be previous undergraduate graduates who have obtained a bachelor’s degree.

3. Language requirements

(1) For English-instruction programs, applicants must have IELTS 5.5 or above, TOEFL 75 or above or other equivalent English proficiency certificate. If the pre-courses use English as the medium of instruction, the above certificates of English proficiency are not required, but relevant certificate that the teaching language is English shall be provided. For applicants whose native language is English, certificates of English proficiency as mentioned above are not required.

(2) For Chinese-instruction programs, applicants should have HSK 4 or above certificate. If without HSK4, applicants may attend Chinese language courses at this university.

4. The applicant shall not be older than 35, physically and mentally healthy, and well behaved.

5. The applicant should voluntarily abide by Chinese laws, regulations and school rules and regulations, know China and love China and have not been subject to any disciplinary action or criminal punishment.

6. The admission qualification of current undergraduate students who fail to obtain the undergraduate diploma and bachelor's degree certificate before enrollment and registration will be automatically cancelled.

VIII. Scholarships

1. Applicants can apply for the scholarship for new international students from Huaiyin Institute of Technology:
